The Huangjiawan Water Conservancy Hub Project is the fourth large-scale water conservancy hub launched in Guizhou Province following the Qianzhong Water Conservancy Project. It is also one of the 20 major national water conservancy projects planned to start in 2016. This is a Class II large (2) water conservancy hub, primarily serving urban and rural domestic and industrial water supply, as well as agricultural irrigation, with integrated functions including hydropower generation.

The main dam is a concrete-faced rockfill dam, with a maximum height of 81.0 meters. The total reservoir capacity is 157.3 million cubic meters, and the installed hydropower capacity is 24,000 kilowatts.

The irrigation and water supply system includes:

• 1 main canal

• 3 branch canals

• 2 township water supply pipelines

• 1 water supply pipeline to the Maoying Industrial Park

• Supporting canal structures and water lifting pump stations

The total length of the main and branch canals and pipelines is 119.94 kilometers.

The estimated total investment for the project is 2.99889 billion yuan, and the planned construction period is 48 months.
