Jinfeng Tunnel Project starts from Daishan Avenue in Bishan District of Chongqing and ends up at Gaoxin Avenue in Chongqing High-Tech Industry Development Zone, the total length is 9.2Km. It contains one tunnel roughly 3.0 kilometres, four interchange structures and auxiliary work such as utility network systems. It’s carried out in two sections: Main Urban Area Section and Bishan Section

Main Urban Area Section: from the east of BQ RD extension 6.1km to GAOXIN AVENUE in the HIGHTECH ZONE (in BISHAN 2.1km) this section is expected to cost 3.658B YUAN It’s carried out by Chongqing Urban Investment Infrastructure Construction Co.,Ltd, it began building in March 2021.

Bishan Section: The east stretches from the west end of Biqing Road all the way to Daishan Avenue, and it’s 3.1 kilometers long, with an investment of 629 million yuan. It is built by Chongqing Urban Investment Shuguanghu Construction Co., Ltd. Construction began in February 2023.

On April 28, 2024, at 15:00, the mainline of the Jinfeng Tunnel (Main Urban Area Section) opened to traffic.

Jinfengtunnel, starting from Daishan Avenue in Bishan District, passing through Jinyun Mountain, it ends at Gaoxin Avenue in Jilongpo District. East-West route. It is planned as a new urban arterial road, it uses double direction six lanes and a design speed of 60km/h. It has a total length of 9.23 kilometers. It includes:

4 interchanges: Daishan Interchange, Donglin Interchange, Qinggang Interchange, and Jinfeng Interchange

1 tunnel: Jinfeng Tunnel (approximately 2.76 kilometers)

4 mainline bridges

1 tunnel management facility

1 toll station and management facility

The project uses a total area of 129.07 mu, of which 120.10 mu is permanent land and 8.97 mu is temporary land. Earthwork is a total of 6.6605 million cubic meters, including:

Excavation: 2.8813 million cubic meters (topsoil stripping is 296,200 cubic meters and silt removal is 132,700 cubic meters)

Filling: 3.7792 million m³

Borrowing: 1.0521 million m³(all surplus material of the Taojia Tunnel Project)

Spoil: 154,200 m³

Supporting facilities consist of 2 construction and living areas (combined with management and median landscaping), 2 spoil areas, 2 temporary soil storage areas (material from the Taojia Tunnel) and 19 topsoil piles. There will be no new borrow pits or temporary construction roads.

The total investment in the project is 5.1703685 billion yuan, among which the civil construction investment is 3.1972173 billion yuan. The planned duration of construction time is January 2020 to December 2023, a total of 48 months.

Jinfeng Tunnel upon completion will make it possible for people to go directly from Bishan to Jiulongpo thus reducing travel time between the two areas.
